How Baus Works
With just one input song, Baus creates a playlist of acoustically similar songs and uploads the playlist to Spotify. Baus allows you to discover new music from artists you already love.
Unlike other music recommendation services, Baus does not use track popularity as a similarity metric. Rather, Baus uses a sophisticated machine learning algorithm that intelligently weighs different song attributes like energy, tempo, and acousticness to find the quantitatively most similar songs.
Baus also implements something called Track Order Optimization--it determines the optimal order of tracks, so if you listen to the your Baus playlist in order (without shuffle), each track will flow right into the next.
Step 1: Search
The first step in Baus is to search for a starting track for your playlist. Baus will find acoustically similar songs to this input track and create a playlist for you containing those similar tracks.
Step 2: Configure
After selecting a starting track, you can configure optional parameters for your playlist like number of tracks or genres.
Step 3: Enjoy!
After configuring playlist parameters, Baus will create a playlist of similar songs. Baus syncs directly with Spotify, so the playlist is immediately available for listening!
Visualize Playlists
You can also visualize the progression of tracks for any playlist with Baus to see how track features like year or happiness change over the course of the playlist.
